Wall Anchors and beam supports
Bowing basement walls can occur on block or concrete poured walls. Commonly the expanding or swelling of the soil outside of the home and around it will put pressure on the walls and push them inward. Depending on our inspection of the basement wall that is pushing inward /bowing, we have a few options to recommend. Basement wall anchors can be added as a stabilization method. Wall anchors can be attached with large steel plates inside of the home and outside by a threaded steel rod and fasteners. Another common method amongst Columbus homeowners is the I-beam support. I-beams are set vertically along the foundation wall, and attach to the floor joists above it and the concrete floor below it with brackets and fasteners. Through tightening of the fasteners, we can bring stabilization or do minor pull backs of the existing walls.
